EPS: Electronic Prescription Service
We have moved to Electronic Prescriptions, this means for most Medications you will not need a paper prescription, your prescription will go straight to the Chemist of your choice electronically.
Before this can happen we will need all patients to nominate the chemist where they will be picking up your medication from. Our reception staff will be asking you for this information.
Named Accountable GP
As part of our new contractual requirement for 2015-16, all patients registered with our practice are to be allocated a named Accountable GP.
What does "Accountable mean?" the new contract requires the named accountable GP to be responsible for the co-ordination of all appropriate services required under the contract ad ensure they are delivered to each of those pateints where required, on the patients behalf. However, this does not mean that they will be the only GP who will provide care to that patient.
Will GP pactices write to patients to inform them of their named GP? No. However, practices are required to inform patients of their named GP at the next appropriate interaction.
Can patients choose their own accountable GP? In the first instance, pateints will simply be allocated a named GP. If a patient requests a particular GP, reasonable effort will be made to accomodate their preference.
Do patients have to see their named GP when they book an appointment? No. Patients can and should feel free to see any GP inthe practice in line with current arrangements.
All Patients registered at The Village Surgery have a Named Accountable GP
